Bees play a leading role in pollination. They give huge support to generating more and more seeds by transferring tiny little grains of pollen from the flower of one plant to the flower of another same kind of plant.

Pollination is the major activity that protects all these plants for the next generation. If bees and not available, all plants are now in the extrinct list of the Red Data Book.

So, why do you get rid of bees around your fruit trees? Yes, bees help to make seeds, but bees tend to devour fruits when fruits get mature. Therefore, we must accept that this helpful little animal can be an annoyance.

I know you may have a question like “do bees eat fruits?” Shortly, the answer is yes, bees eat fruits, including peaches, grapes, apples, plums, figs, and pears. Bees tend to find ripe fruits very much to their liking, especially in a nectar dearth.

So, how can you get rid of bees around your fruit trees? Do you have any idea?

Whether you have or not, do not panic. There are very simple ways to keep bees away from your fruit trees. So, this is the best time to grab these tips!

Bee traps

If you suffer from bees’ heavy damage, you can go with bee traps. These bees and wasp traps are safe for the environment and non-toxic. Also, you can set them simply. That’s why many fruit growers go with bee traps.

If you go with sprays, you have to sprinkle them daily. So, bee traps give rest to your hands. However, what is this bee trap mean to be?

Actually, the Beehive wasp trap set can be defined as a yellow container with sugar water. So, how do you use bee traps?

Here the only thing you have to do is hang the bee trap from your fruit tree. It helps you to remove the bees that are swarming around.

There is a Reusable wasp trap in the market. It is a glass container, and you have to add bait to it and then hang it in your fruit tree.

Commercial sprays

There are sprays to kill bees under many different brands. So, you can choose a spray that is non-toxic to small animals, humans, and fruits.

Among them, Fruit spray is an organic spray. You can keep away several insects, including bees, from your fruit trees, by supporting this spray.

On the other hand, Bonide spider and ground bee killer spray also act against the bees to protect your fruit trees. Actually, it is dust. So you can place them on the fruit trees to kill bothersome insects, including bees, to protect your fruit trees.

If you do not desire to hurt animals, bee traps are not your match. But how do you protect your fruits without damaging bees? Let’s explore!

Use household items

If I tell you that you can find things in your own house to keep away bees from your fruit trees, do you agree with me?

Yes, several household items can protect your fruits from bees. Can you find a Dryer fabric softener? It is a natural repellent for bees. If you hang them all in the fruit trees, you may notice that the bees do not tend to make nests or go near your tasty fruits.

On the other hand, vinegar or other non-sweet kitchen items also act as an excellent method to control the bees near your fruit trees because bees are unable to handle the strong odor of vinegar.

You can make a mixture of vinegar with a small amount of water, then spray it on fruit trees. Definitely, it will clear the bees around your fruit trees.

Here I have another solution that is made with vinegar. Try it!

Step 1: Take lemongrass, peppermint or citronella oil, and vinegar

Step 2: Then make 5 ml of peppermint, citronella oil, or lemongrass with 4 ounces each of vinegar and water. Then mix them well.

Step 3: Put it into a spray bottle and spray it on fruit trees.

Is there cinnamon in your kitchen? I think it is. You can also use cinnamon to keep away bees from your fruit trees, not kill them.

Further, you can take advantage of clove, geranium essential oil, bay leaves, geranium flowers, and other scented herbs by spraying.

Special Note

Whatever thing that you use to get rid of the bees from your fruit trees, remember to wash your fruits properly after they are picked and before you eat them. Because, the sprays and other household items can create another big problem.

Warning

Due to many reasons, like being unable to tolerate the bother of bees or getting a quick answer, you may tend to use poisons or pesticides. But it would be best if you did not go with them because toxins and pesticides are harmful to the fruit and small animals like rabbits, cats, and moles that enhance the beauty of your garden.

WHAT SCENTS HAVE THE POWER TO KEEP BEES AWAY?

Bees do not have the ability to handle strong scents. So, bees do not like citronella oil, lemon, lime, lavender oil, olive oil, and vegetable oil.

In addition to that, bees hate other herbs that are very aromatic, like thyme, eucalyptus, and spearmint. So, you can plant some of the plants around the garden. But not much because keep in mind, you need bees’ support to get fruits.

WHAT COLORS DO BEES HATE?

Before going to the topic, it is essential to know the reason that I mention the colors that bees hate. You can use these colors to keep away bees from your fruit trees.

For example, you can take a ribbon of the below-mentioned colors and tie it to fruit trees. Do you get my point?

Naturally, bees recognize the dark colors as a threat. Mainly black, brown and red. Now you may think that can bees identify the colors? Actually, bees identify the red and brown as black.

WHAT KILLS BEES INSTANTLY?

You know that insecticides have the power to kill the bees instantly. But if you want alternative store-bought insecticides, tackle small bees best with soap and water.

Here you can mix the 2 tablespoons of dish soap in to spray bottle of water. Then the mixture is on the nest of bees or fruit trees. This dish soap solution will kill the bees because it clogs their breathing pores.

But if you do not like to give the bees an unfortunate death, you can follow up above several methods to get rid of them from your fruit trees.
