HOW TO MAKE FRESH SOURSOP JUICE?

Soursop juice is not popular as mango juice. But if you try it at once, I am sure you will be a lifetime fan of soursop juice because it is delicious. However, you can try these simple steps at home to collect an exciting and delightful experience!

Step 1: select a better soursop fruit

Here you can choose soursop fruit that is yellow-green and fairly soft. Because it is perfect for making tasty soursop juice. Also, check whether that fruit has any damages like bird bitten areas or trash areas.

If you notice some of them, cut these areas and take only the fresh part.

Step 2: peel the soursop fruit

If you select soursop according to step 1, peeling the fruit is an easy task. Because, it is already ripened. Here, you only have to put the initial cut first and peel the skin off with your hands.

Before starting the peeling, you have to wear gloves or clean your hands with soaps.

Step 3: remove the center

Generally, the pulp of soursop is cottony and light texture. However, there is a center that is stiffer and sponge-like. It is not better to use to make your soursop juice. So, cut it out.

Step 4: remove the soursop seeds

You can eat some seeds of fruits. It depends on your preference. But do not try to add soursop seeds to your juice. Why do I say that?

Actually, soursop seeds contain annonacin. It is a neurotoxin. If you have high doses, this toxin has the ability to attack and damage the nervous system. Therefore, you should remove soursop seeds.

However, it is easy to remove them. Thus, soursop seeds are large. If you squeeze the soursop pulp, seeds tend to pop out. Another option is a strainer.

Step 5: blend the pulp

After ensuring that you remove all the seeds, it is time to blend the soursop pulp. You can use a blender and blend it for a couple of minutes.

However, you can blend row pulp. But if the pulp is too thick, it does not matter to add a little water (a quarter cup at a time). Then blend it again.

Step 6: sweeten and flavor

You can add your favorite sweetener to the juice while in the blender. Here you can add sugar as your preference.

In addition to that, you can add a teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg to flavor the juice. Also, cinnamon or ginger makes the perfect combination with soursop juice.

HOW TO PRESERVE AND MAKE SOURSOP JUICE LAST LONGER?

You can preserve and make soursop juice last long by freezing. So, here you may have a question: Can we freeze the soursop juice?

Yes, you can freeze soursop juice and keep it for about 3 months. But how do freeze soursop juice? Here, you have to prepare the soursop juice as usual. Then transfer the juice to the airtight container.

Keeping the juice in the original container can be broken apart due to extremely cold temperatures.

HOW TO TELL IF FRESH SOURSOP JUICE GOES BAD?

Mainly two factors will help you to ensure that. It is appearance and smell. So, let’s see how appearance, smell, and texture change when soursop juice goes bad.

Appearance or color

When the soursop juice spoils, its color tends to change. Generally, fresh soursop juice is white in color, and when it goes bad, it starts to change from white to brown or grey. The color difference is clearly visible to the naked eye.

Smell

Ripe soursop has a good smell. But when soursop juice starts to get worse, it will be a sour rotting smell. It has the ability to turn your head away.

Texture

Generally, good soursop juice has snow-white color and pleasant texture. However, when it gets bad, the texture of the juice will become soggy and watery. However, you can understand that your soursop juice goes bad once you see its texture. It seems to be unpleasant.

CAN WE ADD WATER IN SOURSOP JUICE?

Yes. You can add water to soursop juice. But here, the amount of water can be changing the nature of soursop juice.

It means if you add a little water to soursop juice, the juice will have a creamy and thicker texture.

On the other hand, if you add more water, you can get nice and thinner juice. However, the water amount can be adjusted according to your preference. So, it is up to you.

Moreover, water content directly influences the taste of soursop juice. Thus, here you have to add water carefully. If not, you may feel of watery taste in your juice.
